Accuracy Checking Technician (Pharmacy)

What you will do

• Follow standard operating procedures, operational guidelines, and pharmacy practice standards.
• Check dispensed prescriptions and send orders through courier services.
• Manage pharmacy near misses, create action plans, and work with the Risk and Safety team to resolve incidents.
• Coordinate with Service, Pharmacy Management, and Supply Chain teams to support timely dispatch and inventory management.
• Contribute to service development, patient experience, and operational problem-solving.
• Help train and develop the pharmacy workforce.

Requirements

• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is required.
• A recognised Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification or active enrolment in an accredited ACT training programme is required.
• High professional expertise and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of pharmacy operations and national and local pharmacy services.
• Strong face-to-face communication, collaborative working skills, and flexibility in working hours.

• Onsite two-hour trial and interview with a Production Manager, Pharmacist, and/or Senior Operations Manager.
