TL;DR
Financial Accountant (Fintech): Managing end-to-end financial accounting, statutory compliance, tax activities, and reporting for multiple markets with an accent on month-end close, balance sheet integrity, audits, and IFRS reporting. Focus on resolving intercompany and reconciliation issues, coordinating tax and statutory filings, and driving finance process automation.
Location: Remote in South Africa

What you will do
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for assigned markets.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, management reports, and financial analyses.
- Manage VAT/GST, corporate tax support, transfer pricing recharges, intercompany charges, and related reconciliations.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate regulatory filings and audit activities.
- Partner with Commercial Finance, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Tax, auditors, and external advisors.
- Improve financial controls, reporting processes, data quality, and automation across markets and entities.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in financial accounting, statutory accounting, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, IFRS, and statutory reporting.
- Experience with indirect taxes, corporate tax compliance, and internal or external audits.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to work remotely from South Africa.
Nice to have
- Experience managing multiple markets or legal entities.
- Knowledge of transfer pricing and intercompany accounting.
- Experience with finance transformation, automation, or continuous improvement.
- Experience with SAGE Intacct, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar finance systems.
