Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Content Understanding & Moderation)

Location: Beijing, China

Base salary: ¥341,000–¥943,000 CNY gross per year. The role may also include equity awards and participation in company incentive plans.

What you will do

• Execute the multimodal content representation strategy across video, images, playable content, audio, and text.
• Build shared foundations including content embeddings, game-level features, evaluation harnesses, and labeling pipelines.
• Translate regulatory and contractual obligations into measurable machine learning objectives with product, engineering, and science teams.
• Define evaluation criteria for scarce, noisy, ambiguous, and contested labels.
• Develop content understanding and moderation systems that support ad relevance, marketplace safety, and policy enforcement.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in multimodal machine learning combining vision and language; video experience is especially relevant.
• Production experience owning trust and safety, content moderation, brand safety, or policy enforcement systems.
• Experience adapting foundation models through fine-tuning, distillation, and latency and cost optimization.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience operating production machine learning systems on a serving path.
• Experience evaluating production code and remaining accountable for code produced with AI assistance.
• Professional English proficiency is required for regular written and verbal communication with colleagues and partners worldwide.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with advertising regulations and policy regimes, including DSA, child-directed treatment, and regional advertising standards.
• Systems thinking across performance, scalability, reliability, and cost tradeoffs in distributed systems.
