Senior Publisher (Medical Publishing)

Location: Beijing, China; onsite role

What you will do

• Define and execute portfolio- and journal-level strategies for China partnership and proprietary medical journals.
• Conduct market intelligence, portfolio analysis, and competitiveness analysis to identify opportunities and risks.
• Build relationships with editors, editorial offices, universities, hospitals, experts, and opinion leaders in China.
• Guide partnership journals on publishing best practices and support timely publication of accepted content.
• Manage contract negotiations, renewals, invoicing, billing issues, and the financial viability of the journal portfolio.
• Launch proprietary journals by preparing business cases, appointing editors and board members, and coordinating operational activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or above, preferably in biomedicine or a related field.
• Solid experience and business acumen in academic publishing.
• Experience managing Chinese society journals and proprietary journals; experience launching new titles is strongly preferred.
• Preferably 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, market research, teamwork, and customer feedback analysis skills.
• Applicants may be required to appear onsite at a hirify.global office during the recruitment process.
