Technical Accounting Lead (Fintech)

Location: Remote in Colombia

hirify.global is a Colombian financial platform providing banking, payments, credit, and commerce services, including Buy Now, Pay Later products.

What you will do

• Drive the accounting close and reconciliation governance for the Atlas loan-sale portfolio, delivering month-end results by Working Day 3.
• Oversee interest accrual true-ups, cancellations, repurchases, late fees, impairment, claims, and settlement tie-outs.
• Build internal control, documentation, ownership, data freshness, and audit-evidence frameworks.
• Define single-source-of-truth methodologies for servicing fees, statements, and portfolio performance.
• Lead automation of matching, rollforwards, exception routing, and approvals with Engineering, Data Platform, and FinSyst.
• Coordinate exception reviews and escalations across Capital Markets Operations, Data, Engineering, and external counterparties.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in technical accounting, credit or structured finance, and IFRS, especially IFRS 9 derecognition and loan-sale mechanics.
• Strong experience with loan or receivable accounting, settlement mechanics, portfolio separation, and servicing structures.
• Proven ability to establish financial controls, documentation standards, approval workflows, threshold monitoring, and audit governance.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills when working with Capital Markets, Engineering, FinSyst, and institutional counterparties.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills and the ability to analyze large, complex loan-level datasets.
• Ability to translate accounting and business requirements into functional technical requirements for Data and Engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, banking, regulated financial institutions, institutional loan sales, Forward Flow, or ABS.
• SQL literacy or experience with automated reconciliation engines and ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP.
