Infrastructure Engineering Specialist (Private Cloud)

Location: On site in Ipswich, London, Cheltenham or Manchester, United Kingdom. Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. DV Security Clearance is required, and candidates must have lived in the UK for at least 10 years to obtain clearance.

What you will do

• Architect and deliver next-generation private cloud platforms using VMware Cloud Foundation.
• Build automation-first infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell.
• Resolve complex platform challenges across compute, storage, and networking.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to deliver end-to-end services.
• Improve platform security, resilience, performance, and customer workload onboarding at scale.

Requirements

• Experience in infrastructure architecture and design, data centre infrastructure, and IT infrastructure.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or VMware Cloud Foundation.
• Deep knowledge of VMware and enterprise virtualisation environments.
• Solid understanding of compute, storage, networking, continuous integration and deployment automation, and programming or scripting.
• Proven experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code.
• DV Security Clearance is required, with at least 10 years of UK residence needed to obtain it.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker.
• Knowledge of networking, security, and identity management.
• Linux or Windows system administration experience.
• Experience with encryption and certificate management, including PKI and TLS/SSL.
