Construction Project Manager (Telecommunications)

What you will do

• Lead a regional programme of construction projects across the UK operational and office estate.
• Manage office refurbishments, operational estate upgrades, telephone exchange modernisation, strategic relocations, consolidations and estate rationalisation.
• Direct multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors and other delivery partners.
• Provide technical oversight of building fabric, building systems, statutory compliance and construction solutions.
• Manage programme budgets, forecasting, capital expenditure, risks, issues, dependencies and change control.
• Administer contracts, manage supply-chain performance and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of building fabric, construction methodologies and property-related risks.
• Experience administering construction contracts as a Contract Administrator, Employer's Agent or equivalent client-side representative.
• Practical knowledge of JCT contracts, including Design & Build and Minor Works.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants, budgets, cost control, forecasting and change management.
• Experience delivering projects in operationally critical environments where business continuity is important.
• Strong stakeholder management, programme governance, reporting and risk management skills.

Nice to have

• Degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience in telecommunications, critical infrastructure, utilities, data centres, corporate workplaces or operational estates.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and client-side CDM duties.
• Experience managing occupied buildings or regional multi-project construction portfolios.
