Junior Electrical & Firmware Engineer (Robotics)

Location: NYC office in Chelsea, onsite 5 days per week

Salary: $95,000–$125,000 annual base salary, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity grant.

What you will do

• Support schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout review, fabrication, and assembly for motor drive, sensing, power, and control electronics.
• Develop, test, and debug embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers, including peripheral drivers, communication interfaces, sensor integration, and device control.
• Bring up new boards and debug hardware–firmware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and debuggers.
• Build bench test setups, collect characterization data, and use measured results to guide engineering decisions.
• Support production test fixtures, manufacturing builds, supplier collaboration, and root-cause analysis of production and field issues.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Controls, Software, and Operations teams while producing schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams, test plans, and reports.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, with 0–3 years of professional experience; internships, research, competition teams, and substantial personal projects count.
• Solid grounding in analog and digital circuit design, power electronics fundamentals, schematic capture, datasheet analysis, and component selection.
• Working proficiency in C or C++ for microcontrollers, bare-metal or RTOS development, common peripherals, and SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN protocols.
• Working proficiency in Python for test automation and application-level work, plus familiarity with Git and code review.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, bench power supplies, soldering, and board rework.
• Ability to work from the NYC office onsite five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with brushless motor control, motor drivers, sensor signal conditioning, PCB layout, or robotics projects.
