Cardiac Nurse Case Manager (Cardiac Case Management)

Location: Fully remote, based in Orlando, Florida / the United States. Occasional travel for client meetings, provider visits, training, or account support may be required.

Salary: $78,000–$85,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide telephonic nurse case management for complex cardiac and cardiovascular workers' compensation claims involving Florida first responders.
• Assess, coordinate, and monitor cardiac treatment, diagnostics, medications, procedures, rehabilitation, and specialist care.
• Develop individualized case management plans and evaluate medical necessity, treatment effectiveness, recovery barriers, and return-to-work potential.
• Coordinate communication among injured workers, employers, adjusters, attorneys, healthcare providers, rehabilitation professionals, and client representatives.
• Present clinical updates, action plans, treatment progress, cost drivers, and recommendations during recurring weekly client claims review meetings.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, identify cases requiring additional review or intervention, and support quality assurance and staff guidance.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in good standing; a compact license is preferred.
• At least three years of clinical nursing experience in cardiology, critical care, coronary care, emergency medicine, occupational health, medical-surgical nursing, or case management.
• At least three years of workers' compensation case management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of cardiac and cardiovascular conditions, treatment protocols, clinical assessment, and evidence-based care.
• Strong understanding of Florida workers' compensation regulations and presumptive claims affecting first responders.
• Regular participation in weekly client claims review meetings and availability during established work hours are required.

Nice to have

• Experience managing cardiac, cardiovascular, or other complex medical claims.
• Case Management certification (CCM).
• Experience with public sector accounts, municipalities, first responder populations, or Florida workers' compensation claims.
• Knowledge of Florida Heart/Lung Bill provisions.
