Senior Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote

Base salary: $220,000–$260,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Set the technical vision and lead a zero-to-one AI initiative from discovery and prototyping through production launch and ongoing delivery.
• Partner with clinical, policy, product, operations, and business leaders to translate complex oncology care-decision workflows into reliable software.
• Own architecture across web applications, APIs, services, data models, integrations, AI systems, and AWS infrastructure.
• Build full-stack foundations using Vue.js, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, Postgres, and AWS.
• Design and productionize LLM-powered capabilities, including automated decisioning, document understanding, and conversational experiences.
• Define evaluation, prompting, observability, guardrail, testing, and technical decision-making practices for safe and auditable systems.

Requirements

• Experience setting technical direction for complex software products or platforms from initial idea through production operation.
• Experience leading zero-to-one or early-stage initiatives in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.
• Strong full-stack experience with JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular, plus backend technologies comparable to Python and FastAPI.
• Experience designing scalable APIs, data models, system architectures, and relational database solutions such as Postgres.
• Experience operating production services in a cloud environment such as AWS.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered product capabilities and establishing reliable evaluation, observability, and guardrail approaches.
