3GPP Developer (Backend)

Location: Italy; hybrid work with an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office

Salary: EUR 29,800–52,200 annual base salary

What you will do

• Design and implement enhancements and programming changes for backend and distributed software systems.
• Analyze coding, programming, and integration activities based on project objectives and established guidelines.
• Write and execute software testing plans, protocols, and documentation.
• Debug code, identify issues, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners.
• Communicate software design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• 2–4 years of experience designing and developing backend or distributed software systems.
• Fluent English and Italian.
• Strong knowledge of backend software development languages, Linux operating systems, networking fundamentals, and IP networking.
• Experience with Git, issue-tracking platforms, software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with 4G/LTE and 5G Core Networks.
• Knowledge of Linux kernel networking concepts and the network stack.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native environments, and telecommunications protocols.
• Knowledge of advanced IP routing, including BGP and OSPF.
• Understanding of microservices and distributed systems design principles.
