Senior EMC Test Technician (EMC)

Location: Onsite in Roseville, California, United States.

Salary: USD 68,700–125,500 annual base salary in California, United States.

What you will do

• Perform conducted and radiated emissions testing according to CISPR 32 and international equivalents.
• Perform immunity testing according to CISPR 35 and the IEC 61000-4 series, including ESD, radiated and conducted immunity, EFT/Burst, surge, voltage dips and interruptions, and magnetic field immunity.
• Plan, prepare, and execute EMC test programs for product qualification, certification, and regulatory compliance.
• Operate, maintain, and verify EMC laboratory equipment and test environments, including anechoic chambers, shielded rooms, and specialized fixtures.
• Document procedures, setups, observations, and results; prepare compliance reports and maintain laboratory records.
• Investigate test failures, support root-cause analysis, and collaborate with design, product development, quality, and engineering teams on corrective actions and EMC mitigation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Typically 1+ years of experience.
• Basic understanding of electronics, RF concepts, electrical circuits, and test instrumentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented laboratory environment.

Nice to have

• Coursework or experience in EMC, RF measurements, compliance testing, or product certification.
• Familiarity with CISPR 32, CISPR 35, IEC 61000-4 series standards, and international regulatory requirements.
• Experience operating electronic test and measurement equipment in a laboratory environment.
• Experience working within an ISO/IEC 17025 quality system or accredited laboratory environment.
