Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Networking II

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of 2 days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Design limited enhancements and programming changes for systems software, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
• Analyze design requirements and determine coding, programming, and integration activities for assigned systems components.
• Write and execute portions of testing plans, protocols, scripts, and technical documentation.
• Identify, debug, and resolve software issues while proposing code improvements.
• Collaborate with software engineers and internal and outsourced development partners on reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Communicate software design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Typically 2–4 years of experience in software systems or quality assurance engineering.
• Experience with software systems testing methodology, test plans, debugging, testing scripts, and automation tools.
• Programming experience, preferably with Python, and experience with software automation.
• Experience with Linux, Unix, Windows, or other operating systems and with network device management and deployment, including routing, switching, and firewall devices.
• Mastery of English and the local language is required, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience or understanding of IXIA, Spirent, or similar network traffic generation and analysis tools.
• Experience designing software systems that run across multiple platform types.
