Resident Engineer (Data Center Networking)

Location: Full-time onsite at a customer location in the Columbia/Fort Meade area, Maryland, United States

Salary: USD 119,500–275,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Operate and maintain a data center network.
• Support routing and switching technologies including EVPN, multicast, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, pseudowires, L2VPN, L3VPN, MPLS Traffic Engineering, GRE, and VXLAN.
• Support Juniper QFX, MX, EX, and SRX products.
• Troubleshoot network and equipment issues, open and track JTAC cases, and drive problems through resolution.
• Communicate case status, provide root cause analysis, and deliver technology briefings and training sessions.
• Work with customer engineers and account teams to implement solutions and improve network design and operations.

Requirements

• US citizenship required.
• TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph required.
• Engineering design, architecture, operations, and support experience in a medium- to large-scale data center network.
• Strong understanding of data center routing and switching technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and work effectively under pressure with customer engineers and JTAC.
• Strong communication, presentation, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Juniper products and Juniper or other vendor certifications.
• Automation and DevOps knowledge.
• Experience with XML API, NETCONF, REST API, gRPC, Python, PyEZ, ncclient, Ansible, Jinja2, and Python or SLAX automation scripts.
