Vice President, Energy Broking

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office or onsite with clients

What you will do

• Develop insurance placement solutions for energy, power, and mining clients in Indonesia using risk, industry, and carrier expertise.
• Implement placement strategies that support growth, client retention, new business production, and exceptional client service.
• Develop go-to-market strategies, articulate the value of placement services, and participate in service pricing where applicable.
• Define coverage specifications, obtain carrier quotations, and bind coverage through accurate placement binders.
• Build relationships with clients, client executives, practice teams, insurance markets, carriers, underwriters, and regional stakeholders.
• Provide senior placement and technical support while advising on changing insurance and risk management market conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of experience in commercial insurance, preferably insurance broking, with expertise in complex specialty lines or large corporate accounts.
• Strong experience in the upstream and downstream oil and gas sector.
• Demonstrated success in client leadership, commercial growth, winning large accounts, and expanding portfolio profitability.
• Experience managing, coaching, and developing high-performing teams, including matrix management across regional or global offices.
• Significant risk expertise and established relationships within the energy, power, and/or mining specialty in Indonesia.
