Cloud Developer (AI)

Location: Onsite, primarily from an HPE office in the United States; salary information references North Carolina and Texas

Salary: USD 92,700–213,500 annual base salary in North Carolina and Texas; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and own core components of a Kubernetes-based private cloud AI platform.
• Translate feature specifications into robust designs, implementation plans, and production-ready code.
• Build and evolve scalable, reliable, and secure backend services and controllers in Golang.
• Debug and resolve complex issues spanning applications, Kubernetes, CSI drivers, and external storage.
• Drive CI/CD practices for deploying and managing cloud-native services.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, technical guidance, and collaboration with product managers and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 1–5 years of professional experience in cloud or platform engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerized systems, and CSI/PV/PVC lifecycle management.
• Experience with infrastructure layers including Linux, servers, storage, and networking.
• Advanced Golang and shell scripting skills, with strong Linux, storage, and security fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with Git, GNU Make, and CI/CD pipelines; primary experience must be in software development rather than DevOps or infrastructure engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and managed cloud services.
• Familiarity with Postgres, Redis, object storage, KVM, and backup or restore tools such as Velero or Kasten.
• Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tools including Cert-Manager, Istio, Kyverno, MetalLB, and Prometheus.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
