TL;DR
Federal Government Technical Service Advisor (IP Networking): Providing customer-facing technical leadership for US Federal Government network services, including reliability, performance, security, escalations, and deployment planning with an accent on IP/MPLS networking, service delivery, and risk mitigation. Focus on conducting network health and configuration reviews, resolving complex technical issues, managing customer escalations, and coordinating HPE engineering and support teams.

Location: Onsite at an HPE office, at least 3 days per week; supports the US Federal Government and requires US citizenship plus eligibility for a US Government security clearance.

Salary: USD 81,500–187,500 annual base salary in Wisconsin, United States

What you will do

  • Provide technology consulting, technical leadership, and post-sales service support for Federal Government customers.
  • Act as the single customer point of contact for escalations, service delivery, SLAs, and customer success.
  • Evaluate network performance, scalability, security, configurations, topologies, and deployment plans.
  • Lead customer reviews, service business reviews, status reporting, postmortems, root-cause analyses, and trend analysis.
  • Coordinate with HPE support, Professional Services, Advanced Services, Education Services, account teams, and engineering.
  • Track assets, contracts, product lifecycle milestones, network changes, and proactive software upgrades.

Requirements

  • US citizenship and eligibility for a US Government-issued security clearance are required; active clearance at hire is preferred but not required.
  • At least 4 years of experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting datacenter and IP/MPLS networks in customer-facing roles.
  • At least 4 years of customer-facing experience and experience collaborating, mentoring, or leading teams and projects.
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, QoS, VLAN, STP, IPsec, NAT, IPv6, VRRP, OSPF, BGP, multicast, and MPLS VPN.
  • Strong exposure to network operations and the ability to work independently in an unstructured environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Segment Routing, traffic engineering, data center switching, VXLAN, EVPN, SD-WAN, and wireless technologies.
  • Military or emergency services experience.
  • Large enterprise or network service provider experience.
  • ITIL knowledge, automation experience, and HPE or equivalent networking certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, or JNCIE.
  • A business degree such as an MBA.
