Global Head of Economics Research, Head Economist (AI)

Location: United States

Salary: $214,200–$315,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Lead the Global Economics Research function, set its vision, and define a high-impact research agenda.
• Analyze hirify.global’s economic impact and the effects of policy proposals on the platform and its users.
• Produce public-facing economic analyses for policymakers, media, and other external audiences.
• Translate complex research into clear narratives through media interviews and policymaker meetings.
• Engage with academics, think tanks, and other thought leaders to develop research and policy foundations.
• Coordinate with Public Policy, Communications, Analytics, Finance, and Strategy & Operations teams while managing a global team.

Requirements

• PhD in Economics or a similar quantitative discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in economic research, data analytics, economic or management consulting, or a related quantitative role.
• Strong record of influencing senior stakeholders and communicating complex findings to non-technical audiences.
• Expertise in SQL and statistical analysis, including hypothesis testing, experimentation, and regression.
• Experience with analytics and visualization tools and the ability to use AI tools to enhance research impact.
• Experience managing direct reports, providing technical mentorship, conducting one-on-ones, and participating in recruitment.
