Senior Director of Analytics & Data Science (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; on-site

Compensation: $310,000–$355,000 annually plus bonus and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build and lead a centralized team of analysts and data scientists embedded across cloud, customer experience, construction, power, manufacturing, and other business domains.
• Define the team’s staffing model, operating standards, career paths, prioritization process, and cross-business engagement model.
• Establish standards for statistical analysis, experimental design, forecasting, uncertainty communication, peer review, and analytical rigor.
• Own certified data marts, business logic, metric definitions, business-rule testing, executive reporting, and board-level reporting.
• Develop predictive and statistical capabilities for power utilization, capacity and demand forecasting, schedule and cost forecasting, fleet reliability, and product experimentation.
• Partner with the Data team to improve the data foundation and enable governed self-service analytics using certified models and business definitions.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in analytics or data science, including 5+ years leading teams of data scientists, analysts, and analytics engineers.
• Hands-on proficiency with SQL, Python, data modeling, and dbt or an equivalent transformation tool.
• Experience applying forecasting, experimental design, and statistical inference to business problems, including production model ownership.
• Experience with a modern data stack such as BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Airflow.
• Strong governance, financial, operational, executive communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Comfort building teams, systems, standards, and processes from the ground up.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Ph.D. in data science, statistics, computer science, or another quantitative field.
• Experience in energy, construction, manufacturing, supply chain, data center development, or other capital-intensive industries.
• Knowledge of cloud or infrastructure economics, including ARR, utilization, and capacity planning.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools, optimization for physical operations, hypergrowth companies, or LLM/MCP-based self-service analytics.
