Mechanical Simulation Engineer (HDD)

Salary: $91,100–$121,500 per year

What you will do

• Simulate complex HDD servo-mechanical systems using finite element analysis methods.
• Perform static, dynamic, electromagnetic, vibro-acoustic, and computational fluid dynamics analyses.
• Conduct correlation experiments to validate simulation results.
• Partner with mechanical and servo design engineers to optimize designs and recommend novel solutions.
• Analyze manufacturing tooling and processes with internal manufacturing teams to support robust, high-volume production.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Demonstrated analysis skills through industrial experience or academic projects.
• Proficiency with mechanical analysis and design tools such as ANSYS, Hyperworks, Matlab, or SolidWorks.
• Fundamental knowledge of dynamics, vibration control, testing, and associated data analysis.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with Laser Doppler Vibrometers, Fourier analyzers, oscilloscopes, or similar equipment.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of machine learning.
• Experience performing finite element analysis of complex structures and systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
