What you will do
- Design assemblies, plastic and metal parts, PCB-mounted magnetic components, production fixtures, and test tools.
- Perform tolerance studies, component selection, thermal analysis, and mechanical shock and vibration analysis.
- Apply design-for-manufacturability and design-for-assembly principles using SolidWorks and in-house manufacturing capabilities.
- Qualify and monitor component and custom-part vendors, and maintain bills of material and cost estimates.
- Write test plans, conduct design testing, review results, and support compliance and environmental qualification.
- Review and improve mechanical documentation, designs, and manufacturing processes while mentoring junior engineering and design staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in three or more areas including electromechanical packaging, heat transfer, materials and processes, mechanics, CAD, electronic manufacturing, or production fixturing.
- Strong problem-solving, project-management, writing, documentation, speaking, and teamwork skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
- Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results are required.
Nice to have
- At least 2 years of SolidWorks experience.
- Experience with industrial plastics, machined components, DFM, electronic components and materials, or UL/UL EIS.
