Location: Hybrid from offices in Reston, Virginia; Arlington, Virginia; or New York, New York. U.S. citizenship is required. The 10-week internship runs from June through August 2027. Relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
Salary: $23 per hour. The stated pay range for full-time employment is $37,855–$64,354.

What you will do
- Support projects involving energy and environmental markets, greenhouse gas inventories, mitigation analysis, climate vulnerability, adaptation, resilience, climate justice, and stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to a Climate Center flagship report.
- Perform quantitative problem-solving, data collection, and analysis.
- Review scientific and policy literature and synthesize findings into reports for technical and general audiences.
- Translate climate science and risk management topics into accessible language.
- Provide logistical and planning support for meetings, workshops, and webinars.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required for federal contracts.
- At least 60 college credit hours completed by the start date.
- Academic focus in engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science, climate or meteorological studies, economics, environmental science and policy, climate science, public policy, business administration, communications, hard sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong oral and written communication, organization, time management, prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Nice to have
- Experience with Python, R, or GIS.
- Experience conducting scientific or policy research, literature reviews, and synthesis of findings.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
