R&D Lab Intern (2027)

Location: Hybrid in Libertyville, Illinois, US; interns must work from the office at least 4 days per week. Relocation and housing assistance are not provided.

Salary: $22.00–$26.00 per hour, based on education and skills.

Company

Develops, manufactures, and markets healthcare products for ostomy care, continence care, and critical care, along with educational support materials.

What you will do

• Prepare and test formulations under supervision.
• Conduct materials and formulation testing using established procedures.
• Assist with method development and validation for materials analysis.
• Prepare samples and support prototype development.
• Perform physical and chemical materials characterization.
• Maintain experiment records, analyze data, manage laboratory equipment and inventory, and support protocol optimization.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience from coursework or academic projects.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment.
• Interest in materials testing and formulation development.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work in the Libertyville office at least 4 days per week.
