Hardware (PCBA) Design and Verification Intern (Winter 2027 - 4 months)

Location: Ottawa, Canada — 383 Terry Fox, Building C

Hourly pay: CAD 25.50–35.00

What you will do

• Test and debug new and existing circuit boards for switching products.
• Perform design verification covering functionality, performance, operating margins, and robustness.
• Conduct signal integrity measurements, thermal stress testing, and component qualification.
• Manage board programming and prototype inventory.
• Prepare design specifications and test plans.
• Use Cadence Concept and Allegro CAD tools and learn fiber optic transport and test equipment.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Available for a four-month work term starting in January 2027.
• Work is based at the Ottawa, Canada location.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, analyzers, and other lab test equipment.
• Understanding of high-speed signaling, transmission lines, and digital and analog design.
• Experience designing and debugging hardware.
• Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools.
