Senior AI Tech Architect (AI Platforms)

Location: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Durham, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Summit, or Washington, United States. Travel to work with clients and BCG teams may be required.

Base compensation: $150,000 USD annually, plus an annual discretionary performance bonus and profit-sharing and retirement contributions.

What you will do

• Design and implement AI and LLM-based platform components and agentic systems with guidance from senior architects.
• Build RAG solutions, prompt workflows, vector-database integrations, and AI components connected to APIs, data sources, and enterprise systems.
• Support batch and real-time inference pipelines, deployment to development and production environments, and operational readiness.
• Develop prototypes and proofs of concept, test agentic workflows, and iterate on retrieval strategies and prompts.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance, reliability, versioning, testing, and monitoring of AI services and models.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product team members, architects, and clients while supporting junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or AI development.
• Hands-on experience building or integrating AI, machine learning, or LLM-based components and using AI-assisted coding tools.
• Understanding of distributed systems, agentic AI, RAG, prompt orchestration, vector databases, cloud platforms, and AI services.
• Experience integrating AI components with APIs and data sources; familiarity with Docker is required, while Kubernetes exposure is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, code-quality, agile delivery, and collaboration skills, with willingness to work in ambiguous environments and travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript.
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or similar AI frameworks and libraries.
• Master’s degree, Kubernetes exposure, and experience contributing to proposals or internal initiatives.
