Principal AI Tech Architect - AI Platforms

Location: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, Summit, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Durham, or Washington, United States. Significant travel to client sites may be required.

Base compensation: $230,000 USD, plus an annual discretionary performance bonus and retirement contribution.

What you will do

• Design scalable architectures for AI- and LLM-based applications, intelligent agents, enterprise integrations, and hybrid AI pipelines.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts for RAG flows, model architectures, agent orchestration, and emerging AI frameworks.
• Establish architecture blueprints, governance frameworks, model versioning, data lineage, responsible AI, and LLMOps standards.
• Oversee performance, observability, testing, monitoring, and the transition of AI solutions from prototype to production.
• Lead technical workshops and presentations, advise senior client stakeholders, and collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams.
• Manage and mentor junior team members, support business development, and contribute to thought leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, computer science, information systems, systems controls and engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of technology consulting or software engineering experience, including 5+ years in architecture.
• Strong experience with software architecture, distributed systems, and AI/ML or LLM-based applications.
• Programming experience with one or more of Python, JavaScript, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, TypeScript, or Node.
• Knowledge of agentic AI, RAG, vector databases, model orchestration, cloud architecture, enterprise APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Istio.
• Ability and willingness to work from one of the listed U.S. locations and travel to client sites as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK, Strands, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, or related frameworks.
• Experience with Pinecone, Qdrant, Cosmos DB, Azure Search, Neo4j, memory engines, or knowledge representation.
• Experience with React, Next, multi-agent systems, knowledge graphs, MLOps, LLMOps, observability, and evaluation frameworks.
• Consulting, innovation lab, or rapid-iteration experience.
