Senior Product Manager, Compute Platform (AI)

Location: United States; roles based in the San Mateo, California headquarters are onsite Tuesday through Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday

Salary: $280,540–$330,950 USD annual base pay

What you will do

• Set the strategy and roadmap for Compute Platform across managed Kubernetes, managed compute services, distributed systems, and unified fleet APIs.
• Scale GPU infrastructure for frontier-model training and inference across on-premises data centers, edge data centers, and public cloud.
• Support AI, storage, data analytics, and other critical workloads with compute infrastructure designed for different requirements.
• Improve platform reliability by reducing mean time to detect and recover from failures.
• Partner with seven platform teams to provide reusable compute primitives and developer-facing capabilities.
• Align engineers, AI researchers, product teams, finance, users, and leadership around trade-offs in utilization, latency, cost, and delivery speed.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product management experience focused on compute infrastructure or distributed systems at scale.
• Deep practical knowledge of Kubernetes internals, control-plane components, Operators, Controllers, and Custom Resource Definitions.
• Strong understanding of GPU and accelerator architecture, topology-aware placement, preemption, hardware affinity, and resource-readiness validation.
• Experience with cloud-native networking, microservices, CNIs, and enterprise service-mesh architectures.
• Experience building production-grade compute platforms with strong efficiency, reliability, and developer experience.
• For US-based roles, certain US visa categories may not be supported and future H-1B sponsorship may not be available.

Nice to have

• Experience building compute infrastructure on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or another cloud provider.
• Background in AI model development, training, or inference.
• Kernel-level experience or familiarity with custom kernel drivers.
• Experience building agentic systems for compute or infrastructure.
