Senior Product Manager, Inference Platform (AI)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States. Office-based roles are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.

Salary: $280,540–$330,950 USD base pay annually, plus equity eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the vision, strategy, and end-to-end product direction for the Inference Platform.
• Build deployment, scheduling, scaling, and runtime capabilities for AI and other services across data centers and cloud infrastructure.
• Define workload prioritization, isolation, preemption, multi-region orchestration, capacity management, disaster recovery, and failover capabilities.
• Improve developer experience through CI/CD, telemetry, profiling, tracing, SLO management, and frictionless onboarding.
• Advance predictive multi-cloud scaling with AI-powered forecasting, resource optimization, and cost-to-serve analytics.
• Lead trade-offs between efficiency, latency, cost, delivery speed, and reliability while coordinating platform, AI, and infrastructure engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product management experience building resource orchestration, workload management platforms, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience building developer-facing platforms and abstracting complex infrastructure into maintainable platform schemas.
• Experience operating Kubernetes and enterprise-grade service mesh at scale, including custom Operators, Controllers, and CRDs.
• Understanding of Kubernetes control-plane mechanics, including etcd scaling and API server bottlenecks.
• Familiarity with GPU or accelerator architecture, AI model development, training, inference, and related scheduling challenges.
• For US-based roles, certain US visa categories may not be supported, and future H-1B sponsorship may not be available.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Kernel-level experience or familiarity with custom kernel drivers.
• Experience building agentic systems for workload management or infrastructure.
