Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Hybrid, Cork, Ireland

What you will do

• Design and coordinate electrical systems in line with local, national, and international standards and industry best practices.
• Lead the planning, execution, tracking, and improvement of electrical design deliverables across multiple projects.
• Prepare and review project hour estimates, schedules, technical documents, and design execution standards.
• Chair design reviews with project teams and clients, and coordinate with external stakeholders.
• Participate in site visits to plan, monitor, and review electrical installation designs.
• Manage projects independently while ensuring work stays within budget and meets safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Experience coordinating design teams and external stakeholders, conducting value engineering, and implementing cost-effective solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional approach and strong commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable design.
• Essential working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk AutoCAD, Dialux Lighting Design Software, and Caneco One.

Nice to have

• Experience with SmartPlant Electrical, Amtech ProDesign, or ETAP.
