Senior Software Engineer, ML Infra - Asset Safety (AI)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; hybrid office attendance is required Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday

Salary: $278,530–$328,610 USD base pay per year

What you will do

• Architect, build, and optimize ML-based safety moderation systems for 3D content, code, images, and video.
• Develop scalable distributed architectures and event-driven, asynchronous workflows for high-throughput asset processing.
• Deliver AI-driven safety products from ideation through production deployment while coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
• Drive technical roadmap decisions, observability, reliability, security, compliance, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Partner with Moderation Operations, Product Management, Data Science, and engineering teams.
• Mentor engineers and provide hands-on technical leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with large-scale ML infrastructure and distributed production systems.
• Strong backend expertise in microservices, distributed architecture, scalable data storage, and event-driven asynchronous processing.
• Experience designing and deploying low-latency distributed ML services to production.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, end-to-end testing, CI/CD, security compliance, and system observability.
• Hands-on experience with computer vision and multimodal architectures covering image, audio, video, and 3D content.
• For US-based roles, certain US visa categories may not be supported and future H-1B sponsorship may be unavailable.

• Experience fine-tuning large Vision-Language Models.
