Software Engineer, ML Infrastructure, Level 5 (AI)

Location: Los Angeles, Palo Alto, or Seattle, United States; office work expected 4+ days per week under the “default together” policy

Base salary: $178,000–$313,000 annually, depending on US pay zone. Eligible for equity through RSUs.

What you will do

• Design and optimize infrastructure for large-scale machine learning workloads.
• Develop high-performance AI inference and model-serving systems.
• Build cloud infrastructure for scalable model training, evaluation, and inference.
• Develop data management systems for collection, labeling, processing, and evaluation.
• Improve retrieval systems using state-of-the-art vector search algorithms.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to deploy advanced models into production.

Requirements

• 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience, or an equivalent advanced-degree pathway.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience building large-scale production machine learning, distributed, or big data processing systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, or C++.
• Understanding of distributed systems and large-scale ML infrastructure.
• Experience operating highly available systems at significant scale.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in a technical field.
• Experience with ML training platforms or AI inference optimization.
• Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe2, Spark ML, or scikit-learn.
