Sr. Communications Specialist (Public Health)

Location: Full-time onsite in Washington, DC, United States, at the client's office

What you will do

• Advise clients and senior leadership on public affairs and strategic communications.
• Lead special projects, government programs, outreach initiatives, and integrated communications plans.
• Coordinate media relations, social media, internal communications, digital outreach, and campaign rollouts.
• Write Public Affairs Guidance, speeches, op-eds, news articles, and executive messages for senior military, government, and healthcare audiences.
• Oversee communications analytics and measurement of impact.
• Collaborate across disciplines and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required due to government requirements.
• Ability to secure a public trust security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in public relations, public affairs, and integrated communications.
• Proven experience creating communications plans, leading teams, and delivering measurable results.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organization, logistics, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Senior-level civilian or military experience, particularly in public affairs and strategic communications.
• Experience with senior military leaders, Department of Defense activities, healthcare, government agencies, journalism, or PR agencies.
• Experience applying innovative public relations techniques to generate digital engagement and media attention.
• Knowledge of industry trends, including the use of AI.
