Senior Aviation Technical Advisor

Location: Remote within the United States; Reston, Virginia, United States. Travel by air and vehicle is required as needed for project work.

Salary: $158,132–$268,824 per year.

What you will do

• Lead technical delivery for aviation finance, aircraft leasing, maintenance, valuation, appraisal, and technical due diligence engagements.
• Set analytical approaches, challenge assumptions, and ensure accurate, commercially robust, client-ready outputs.
• Direct and quality-assure lease reviews, maintenance cash-flow analysis, aircraft and engine valuations, fleet analysis, technical records, lease returns, and transaction support.
• Oversee project scope, planning, client communications, technical reviews, documentation, budgets, and delivery risks.
• Advise clients on aircraft leasing, maintenance reserves, return conditions, MRO, asset management, and aircraft lifecycle matters.
• Guide multi-location delivery teams and develop methodologies, tools, quality standards, training, and team capability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in aircraft leasing, aviation finance, aviation technical advisory, MRO, maintenance planning, asset management, appraisal support, or a related aviation field.
• 5+ years of experience with aircraft leases, maintenance reserves, return conditions, technical records, fleet maintenance obligations, and aircraft lifecycle considerations.
• 5+ years leading and quality-assuring complex analysis involving aircraft and engine assets, leases, maintenance cash flows, valuations, or technical due diligence.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check required.
• Ability to supervise junior team members and multi-location delivery teams, advise senior clients, and communicate complex analysis clearly.
• Ability and willingness to travel by air and vehicle for project work as needed.

Nice to have

• 12+ years of relevant experience in aircraft leasing, appraisal, asset management, technical advisory, or airline fleet and lease management.
• Experience with lessors, lenders, investors, airlines, MROs, OEMs, or technical service providers.
• Experience with aircraft appraisals, portfolio valuations, maintenance cash-flow forecasting, lease returns, technical due diligence, asset-backed financing, or aircraft transaction support.
• ISTAT Appraiser or ISTAT Candidate status.
• Experience in aircraft engineering, CAMO, maintenance planning, technical records, quality control, training, or analytical tool development.
