Scientist (NGS/Genomics)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

Salary: $80,000–$95,900 per year

What you will do

• Develop and implement next-generation sequencing workflows for research on genome instability in HR-deficient cancers.
• Execute and supervise NGS projects, including quality control, protocol optimization, troubleshooting, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Provide expertise in standard and customized NGS assays, technologies, and multiple NGS instruments.
• Collaborate with Center Directors, Research Scientists, investigators, technical staff, and academic and biopharma industry partners.
• Supervise technical assistants and contribute to manuscripts, grant applications, and scientific presentations.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Molecular Biology or Genetics, with at least two years of postdoctoral experience.
• Hands-on experience with NGS technologies, genomics, workflow development, and optimization.
• Experience with NGS data analysis and visualization using R, Python, and command-line interfaces.
• Experience operating multiple types of NGS instruments and a publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Leadership, mentorship, communication, manuscript preparation, grant writing, and scientific presentation skills.
