Data Governance and Stewardship Lead (MedTech)

Location: Irvine, California, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance 2–3 days per week

Base pay: $94,000–$151,800 per year

What you will do

• Develop, operationalize, and validate data governance frameworks mapped to internal data inventories.
• Implement data usage policies, access controls, stewardship requirements, and governance workflows across data assets.
• Design automation workflows for applying data access and usage policies to governed data holdings.
• Collaborate with business, technology, compliance, IT, and data engineering teams to establish data ownership, permitted uses, restrictions, and access requirements.
• Support business glossaries, metadata, data integration, data lineage, audits, validation, remediation tracking, and governance metrics.
• Enable governed access to preclinical, clinical, and commercial data for patient safety, product development, and operational decision-making; coach junior colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, computer science, information systems, engineering, life sciences, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of data governance experience in a highly regulated industry.
• Experience with data governance technologies supporting stewardship, data quality, lineage, and access management.
• Experience using cloud technologies to build, optimize, and govern data platforms, pipelines, and analytics environments.
• Ability to translate governance requirements into scalable operational processes and communicate technical concepts to multifunctional stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in MedTech, healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, medical safety, quality, regulatory, or product development.
• Familiarity with clinical, preclinical, post-market surveillance, electrophysiology, IDE, commercial, or product lifecycle data.
• Experience with governance frameworks, audit workflows, validation, compliance monitoring, governance metrics, data catalogs, metadata management, dashboarding, or analytics platforms.
• Experience supporting AI/ML, digital health, or advanced analytics through data quality and access controls.
