Director Engineering, Cybersecurity Architecture

What you will do

• Lead the Cybersecurity Architecture & Engineering function, including coaching and developing the Cybersecurity Architect and Cybersecurity Engineer.
• Own the cybersecurity architecture and engineering service portfolio, standards, roadmaps, metrics, intake, and continuous improvement.
• Define enterprise security principles, reference architectures, reusable patterns, engineering requirements, and security guardrails.
• Partner with infrastructure, digital, data, enterprise architecture, and application teams to integrate security into planning, design, development, deployment, migration, and operations.
• Lead architecture reviews across cloud, identity, endpoints, applications, APIs, data flows, collaboration services, and emerging technologies.
• Develop identity-first security, cloud security, application security, DevSecOps, automation, and secure software delivery capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with significant architecture, engineering, and technical leadership responsibilities.
• Experience managing technical security professionals and leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, identity, endpoint, network, application, data, and cloud security.
• Hands-on experience with application security, secure software development lifecycles, DevSecOps, CI/CD security controls, code scanning, threat modeling, and automated validation.
• Experience integrating security into architecture review boards, enterprise governance, technology delivery lifecycles, and platform modernization programs.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, TOGAF, SABSA, CSSLP, CISM, Microsoft security or architecture credentials, or Google Cloud security or architecture credentials.
