IT Cybersecurity Architect

Location: Full-time onsite at the hirify.global Store Support Center, 510 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, Virginia, 23320. Relocation support is available for candidates outside the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Projected salary range: $113,500–$142,000 per year, plus a 20% bonus opportunity and other incentives.

What you will do

• Define and implement enterprise security architecture standards across retail, cloud, and corporate environments.
• Develop reference architectures for Zero Trust, store connectivity, cloud security, and secure system separation.
• Lead Architecture Review Board governance and advise Enterprise Architecture and engineering teams on secure solution designs.
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks.
• Architect segmented cloud environments across GCP, OCI, and Azure and help operationalize cloud security tools.
• Guide security tooling strategy, threat-informed defense, threat modeling, audit readiness, and remediation planning for POS, e-commerce, and supply chain systems.

Requirements

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, including senior security engineering roles.
• 10+ years of advanced IT experience with deep information security exposure and at least 5 years working with leadership to influence security change.
• Experience with retail, multi-site, or distributed enterprise environments and hands-on security for POS, store networks, or high-volume transaction systems.
• Experience embedding security into engineering and DevOps workflows, leading security projects, and balancing security effectiveness with operational cost.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, MITRE D3FEND, OWASP Top 10, CIS Controls, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, PCI DSS, and related security standards.
• At least 5 years of experience with modern network, endpoint, security operations, messaging, identity, data security, and cloud security tools, plus strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience in discount, grocery, or big-box retail.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust at scale and supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or large-scale transformations.
• Familiarity with Okta, Entra ID, Active Directory, LDAP, and relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, or CISM.
