Senior Big Data Infrastructure Specialist (Banking)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid work with 3 days remote per week. Candidates must have an existing legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Oversee Hadoop ecosystem and Data Lake operations to maintain high availability and performance.
• Manage Big Data services and query engines supporting analytics and business needs.
• Implement monitoring and automation strategies for efficient platform management.
• Manage platform lifecycle activities, including stability, upgrades, and continuous improvement.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in complex Big Data environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data solutions aligned with business objectives.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Big Data infrastructure or related roles.
• Strong expertise in Hadoop ecosystem and Data Lake operations.
• Experience with Big Data services, query engines, monitoring, automation, and platform lifecycle management.
• Solid knowledge of Linux systems and infrastructure management.
• Strong problem-solving skills in complex Big Data environments.
• Fluent English communication skills and an existing legal right to work in the European Union are required.

Nice to have

• Certification or experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data security and compliance standards.
