Solution Architect (Telecommunications)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture for automation and observability platforms, from problem framing through design approval and delivery oversight.
• Define integration patterns for Cisco, Nokia, and Juniper systems, cloud providers, and internal OSS/BSS using RESTful and event-driven APIs.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, lead proof-of-concept initiatives, and recommend technology, vendor, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Translate network operations requirements into scalable architectures addressing performance, reliability, security, and operational coverage.
• Provide architectural governance, review engineering designs, set integration standards, and align solutions with network roadmaps and engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and represent the team in cross-functional design forums and vendor engagements.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, or senior platform engineering within telecommunications, networking, or large-scale infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of telco system integration, OSS/BSS, network management systems, RESTful APIs, and event-driven APIs.
• Knowledge of software architecture, API design, microservices, service decomposition, network automation, NETCONF, gNMI, and model-driven programmability.
• Experience integrating AWS, Azure, or GCP with network or operational technology stacks, plus working knowledge of BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, segment routing, and transport networks.
• Experience with TOGAF, TM Forum eTOM/Open APIs, or equivalent standards, plus strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AI/ML applications such as intent-based automation, anomaly detection, and closed-loop assurance.
