Solution Architect (IP)

Location: Macquarie Park, Sydney, Australia; hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote or from home

What you will do

• Architect and design IP network solutions for mobile core, voice core, network management, and telecommunications platforms.
• Develop routing and switching roadmaps, network plans, and solution strategies for scalable, secure, and reliable connectivity.
• Lead the design and onboarding of IP network devices and topologies using automation and intent-based networking tools.
• Provide technical direction as a routing and switching subject matter expert during solution reviews and critical operational issues.
• Work with internal customers, project teams, vendors, and IP teams to assess requirements, resolve design issues, and document solutions.
• Assess projects, budgets, and technical risks, providing recommendations during escalations and delivery milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in IP network engineering, including at least five years in a leadership role and delivery of complex engineering solutions and large projects.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SR-MPLS, SR-TE, RSVP-TE, LDP, SRv6, EVPN, IPVPN, L2VPN, QoS, and traffic engineering.
• Experience designing and managing the lifecycle of BNG, CGNAT, Telco Cloud Connect edge routers, data-centre fabrics, and firewalls across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
• Telecommunications architecture knowledge covering MOCN, 5G private networks, VoLTE, VoWiFi, VoNR, IMS, 3G, 4G, RAN technologies, and network security.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Netconf/YANG, or equivalent automation frameworks, plus strong communication, mentoring, vendor management, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or certified network professional qualification such as CCNP or CCIE.
