Information System Security Officer (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site at the customer location in Huntsville, Alabama; remote work is not supported.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain federal security policies, controls, standards, system security plans, plans of action and milestones, and control evidence.
• Support continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, remediation tracking, audits, assessments, and accreditation activities.
• Maintain compliance across applications, systems, and cloud environments.
• Provide guidance on secure architecture, system hardening, identity and access controls, authentication, data handling, and security requirements.
• Identify security risks, findings, and incidents and coordinate mitigation and corrective actions with engineering, cloud, DevSecOps, QA, data, and product teams.
• Maintain security metrics, dashboards, vulnerability reports, and risk summaries, and communicate security posture to program leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, ISSO support, or security engineering.
• Strong understanding of federal security frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning, findings analysis, remediation, identity and access management, system hardening, logging, and auditing.
• Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information access and the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
• Ability to work full-time on-site at the customer location in Huntsville, Alabama.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with technical teams and leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal modernization or national-security programs.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud environments.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipeline security, and automated scanning.
• CISSP, CISM, Security+, or a similar security certification.
