Senior Insider Threat Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA; hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: $152,000–$228,000 USD for Atlanta. Additional US locations: $144,400–$258,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design, build, tune, and operationalize insider threat detection logic, use cases, and analytics.
• Lead alert triage and investigations, assessing risks such as data exfiltration, employee exit risk, and misuse.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting using behavioral, endpoint, and data activity signals.
• Develop detection strategies, identify coverage gaps, and improve alert fidelity and actionable alert rates.
• Partner with Data Protection, Legal, HR, and Cyber teams to align detections with business context and investigation requirements.
• Use automation, orchestration, and AI-assisted analytics to improve alert enrichment, prioritization, reporting, and response consistency.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in insider threat, security operations, threat hunting, intelligence analysis, corporate investigations, or counterintelligence.
• Corporate or government threat hunting experience.
• Hands-on experience with detection logic and policies in Proofpoint, DTEX, Exabeam, Netskope, or similar UEBA and DLP tools.
• Experience analyzing telemetry in DLP, UEBA, UAM, and SIEM solutions and presenting program metrics to senior leadership.
• Knowledge of insider threat detection methodologies, behavioral analytics, data classification, data movement, and exfiltration techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience mapping detections to MITRE ATT&CK and insider threat TTP knowledge bases.
• Experience developing training, playbooks, and tabletop exercises.
• Relevant certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, ITPM, or Security+.
