TL;DR
Sr. IR Specialist (Cyber Threat Intelligence): Conducting advanced cyber threat triage, IOC enrichment, and threat assessments for secure incident response operations with an accent on malware analysis, threat actor attribution, and interagency coordination. Focus on analyzing high-severity incidents, identifying emerging campaigns, mentoring analysts, and developing triage playbooks and threat detection capabilities.

Location: Arlington, VA, United States; collaboration across physical locations is required.

Salary: $99,000–$206,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Conduct advanced triage and analysis of complex, high-severity cyber threat intelligence and IOC packages.
  • Enrich indicators using classified and unclassified intelligence sources and identify emerging campaigns and threat actor activity.
  • Coordinate joint threat assessments with FBI, NSA, USCYBERCOM, interagency partners, and critical infrastructure organizations.
  • Author threat assessments and intelligence briefs for JCDC leadership and partner organizations.
  • Mentor analysts, review analytical products, and develop triage playbooks, decision matrices, and analytical tradecraft.
  • Support automation, threat detection improvements, strategic capability planning, and an after-hours on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability is required.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in threat intelligence, SOC operations, or cyber incident response.
  • Expertise in malware analysis, threat actor attribution, cyber campaign analysis, threat intelligence platforms, SIEM tools, and analytical frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, intelligence-driven cyber defense, critical infrastructure threats, federal agency coordination, and technical writing.

Nice to have

  • Federal cybersecurity experience with CISA, FBI, NSA, or DoD.
  • Experience with CISA NCISS, threat hunting, proactive threat detection, and vulnerability categorization.
  • Knowledge of computer network defense policies, operational threat environments, application security threats, and foreign adversary capabilities.
  • Published threat intelligence research or open-source security contributions.
  • CISSP, GCTI, GCFA, GREM, or similar advanced certification.
