Manager, Accounting Advisory - Construction Industry Clients

Location: Remote anywhere in the US; ability to travel up to 10%.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary advisory contact for construction clients and provide controller-level accounting support.
• Review financial reporting packages and work papers for quality, completeness, and timely delivery.
• Prepare benchmarking data, key performance indicators, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and present reporting packages and findings to clients.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements to processes, internal controls, and workflow.
• Coordinate US and offshore engagement teams while leading and coaching staff and senior accountants.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 4–6 years of experience in public or private accounting and 3+ years managing associates or teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, WIP schedules, retainage, and change orders.
• Understanding of project-based cash flow dynamics, financial reporting, and analysis.
• Strong planning, project management, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Must be able to work remotely from anywhere in the US and travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• CPA, CMA, or another professional accounting certification.
• Experience with multistate operations, sales and use tax, and contractor-specific compliance.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Foundation, Procore, or similar industry accounting software.
