Assistant Footwear & Bags Designer (Womenswear Non Clothing)

Location: Leicester, with typically 5 days in the office and flexible core hours between 8am and 6pm.

Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support the design and development of footwear, bags, and accessories ranges for the Laura Ashley and Russell & Bromley licensed brands.
• Create high-quality CADs, renders, visual concepts, trend boards, technical packs, and specification sheets.
• Research global trends and translate them into elevated, commercially viable products.
• Brief factories and offshore suppliers, supporting the transition from design concepts to physical samples.
• Design within commercial price points while maintaining product quality, style, and finish.
• Collaborate with designers, buyers, merchandisers, technologists, sourcing teams, and suppliers across seasonal ranges and capsule projects.

Requirements

• Experience designing bags and accessories, with a strong interest in womenswear footwear.
• Hands-on experience creating technical packs and specification sheets and briefing offshore suppliers or manufacturers.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for CADs, renders, and trend boards.
• Strong trend forecasting skills and understanding of commercial pricing and high-street manufacturing.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Applications must include a digital portfolio; applications without a portfolio will not be considered.

• Previous experience in a retail brand or supplier environment.
