Senior Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Ljubljana, Slovenia; hybrid work with three days per week in the Ljubljana office. The team is distributed across Europe and North America and collaborates across several time zones.

Salary: €57,700–€72,100 gross annually in Slovenia.

What you will do

• Build, deploy, and maintain performant distributed services and highly available APIs for imagery access and geospatial analysis.
• Develop production systems using Go, Java, and/or Python with a strong focus on customer experience.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers across multiple cross-functional teams.
• Write maintainable, observable, and well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Operate services using Site Reliability Engineering practices, including performance measurement, load testing, dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and incident response.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and use AI tooling responsibly throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience in a production environment.
• Production experience with Python, Java, and/or Go.
• Experience with GCP or AWS, Docker containers, Kubernetes, Git, large codebases, and complex CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with relational databases, document stores, and key-value stores.
• Understanding of software engineering best practices, development methodologies, and collaborative design processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with geospatial concepts and standards, including GeoTIFF, GeoJSON, and STAC.
• Familiarity with remotely sensed products, associated metadata, and orthorectified imagery.
• Experience with observability platforms such as Grafana.
