Senior Category Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Lead sourcing and contracting for specialized categories and services, including subscription-based and professional services agreements.
• Develop procurement strategies that reduce total cost of ownership, fulfill business requirements, mitigate risk, and optimize value across business units.
• Lead cross-functional teams through requirements gathering, category strategy, RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, negotiations, contracting, onboarding, and supplier performance reviews.
• Manage supplier relationships, governance programs, supply continuity, regulatory compliance, and supplier diversity initiatives.
• Lead sourcing initiatives ranging from $100K to $1M+ and present supplier and purchasing recommendations to executive management.
• Identify and implement AI and automation solutions that streamline procurement workflows and improve decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, plus eight years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and vendor management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing, procurement governance, supplier relationship management, contracting, compliance, and category management.
• Experience negotiating enterprise-wide agreements, service-level agreements, statements of work, and contractual terms.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and present complex recommendations to senior and executive management.
• Ability to work independently, lead cross-functional initiatives, manage changing priorities, and drive organizational change.
• Less than 25% travel required.

Nice to have

• Experience managing subscription-based or professional services categories.
• CPSM, CPM, or comparable purchasing certification.
• Knowledge of AI-powered procurement technologies, automation tools, and analytics platforms.
