Mechanical Engineer (CNC)

Location: Franklin, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $81,675–$90,000 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Partner with Operations to support process improvement for the Optical Filters Business Unit.
• Support implementation of new CNC machines and develop the capabilities of existing equipment.
• Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging.
• Conduct feasibility studies and testing for new and modified designs.
• Direct support personnel involved in detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least two years of experience with CNC machines.
• Ability to write G-code programs.
• Ability to lift and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
• Certain positions may require U.S. person status because of ITAR or EAR-controlled goods and technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience processing optics or glass substrates.
• Experience operating, troubleshooting, and commissioning CNC machines.
• Experience developing tailored cutting processes.
• Experience with robotics, automation systems, and PLCs.
