Software Engineer - Embedded

Location: San Mateo, California, United States

Annual base salary: $127,500–$210,000

What you will do

• Provide technical direction and architecture for complex embedded systems.
• Design and implement embedded software running on autonomous vehicles.
• Characterize, integrate, and validate subsystems such as cameras and radios.
• Bring up and debug new hardware in collaboration with hardware engineers.
• Develop interfaces and drivers for sensors and other devices.
• Build firmware and platform foundations for current and future drone and accessory products.

Requirements

• Modern C++ development experience in real-time embedded environments.
• Python development experience and practical firmware development for physical devices.
• Experience with embedded microcontrollers, embedded Linux userspace and kernel development, and camera drivers.
• Knowledge of low-level firmware, ARM assembly-level debugging, embedded security, and cryptographic firmware.
• Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, system debugging, code optimization, and system-on-chip development.
• FAA Part 107 certification is required for certain positions and strongly encouraged within the first 60 days for all employees.
