Medical Director Rheumatology - US Medical Affairs

Location: Horsham, Pennsylvania, United States; hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days remotely per week; up to 25% domestic and limited international travel.

What you will do

• Shape US Rheumatology Medical Affairs strategy for approved and pipeline products and indications.
• Lead or contribute to Integrated Evidence Teams and maintain Integrated Evidence Generation Plans.
• Design and execute Phase IIIb/IV trials, registries, real-world evidence studies, and investigator-initiated or collaborative studies.
• Provide medical oversight for study operations, protocol development, clinical study reports, publications, and data dissemination.
• Support regulatory submissions, FDA and Health Authority interactions, post-marketing commitments, safety reviews, and compliance activities.
• Build collaborations with key opinion leaders, medical societies, patient advocacy organizations, and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• Advanced degree such as MD/DO, PhD, PharmD, or DNP.
• At least 8 years of combined relevant experience in academic or clinical research, clinical practice, and/or the pharmaceutical industry.
• Required pharmaceutical industry experience; medical affairs experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with commercial brand support, medical launch support, and clinical studies, registries, or real-world evidence studies.
• Rheumatology or immunology therapeutic area expertise is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, scientific writing, communication, leadership, collaboration, and public speaking skills, including demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment.

Nice to have

• Prior R&D experience with responsibility for clinical study planning and execution.
• Experience developing medical education content and partnering with medical communications and scientific exchange teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to learning and applying emerging technologies such as AI.
